Our Mission
|
Enhance state-of-the-art knowledge and
expert care for osteoporosis and other
metabolic bone disorders in Lebanon
through education, research and service.
This will be achieved through a
multidisciplinary approach between
concerned Lebanese Scientific Societies,
the Ministry of Health, the World Health
Organization and the corresponding
International Osteoporosis Societies.

Steps to
optimize bone health and help prevent
osteoporosis
Nutrition: Get the daily
recommended amounts of calcium and vitamin
D; eat fruits and vegetables; avoid
excessive alcohol intake.
Exercise: Regular weight-bearing
and muscle-strengthening.
Smoking:
Avoid smoking; smoking can lead to
lower bone density and higher risk of
fracture.
Consult your doctor: Talk to your
healthcare provider about bone health. Have
a bone density test and take medication when
appropriate.
